Another amazing fun place to ride is Dupont State Forest, located about 40 minutes south of Asheville in Brevard, NC.  Dupont has around 10,400 acres of recreational forests and offers mountain bikers nearly 100 miles of varied trails. While some of the trails here are typical for the region, a few others provide an experience not commonly found in the southern Appalachians: slickrock!
